Steve Johandes is a successful entrepreneur (his company grew from $40M to $400M under his leadership) turned executive coach, Vistage Chair, Advisory Board Member and specializes in working with legacy driven Family Offices, PE and Venture Funds .

Recently, Steve has started a new journey: Battling B-Mantle Cell Lymphoma (BMCL). Since his diagnosis, he has become part of MD Anderson’s moonshot program, on the disease; headed by Dr. Michael Wang. MD Anderson is aggressively pursing this form of cancer + 12 others as part of their Moonshot program.
Steve recently achieved full remission from the disease without the toxic side effects of chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant. Read my blog on the success of the moonshot here.
He is participating in a Phase II clinical trial (Windows 2) that uses a combination of Ibrutinib, Rituximab, and Venetoclax to create a chemo-free, immunotherapy based treatment. By using this method, the toxicity (and 12% secondary Leukemia risk) associated with the traditional treatments (front-line chemo / stem-cell transplant) are avoided. This is what a cancer moonshot looks like.
Steve is thrilled to be a part of this groundbreaking study, and his goal is to be the first generation of early stage BMCL patients to eradicate this disease. MD Anderson is aggressively pursing this form of cancer + 12 others as part of their Moonshot program. Following his mantra of life, leadership, and legacy, he has decided to use this experience to help others as a Cancer Advocate. Steve is happy to discuss, his journey and give advice for any patient navigating the medical system to finding best in class treatment options with any patient facing a life threatening diagnosis.
